Fiancé

Meet a boy who makes you better just because you know him.  Meet a boy who makes your head swivel with ideas.  Meet a boy who breaks your heart without knowing it every time you even dare to imagine life without him.

Watch him be.  Watch him smile at people he doesn't know and kindly reassure someone that he doesn't get along with.  Watch him hug his sister and praise his father.

Hear him exult over things you know nothing about, teaching you all the while.  Hear him sing unabashedly.  Hear him speak sense.

Notice how unaware he is of his own virtues.  Notice that he is patient and obedient and strong.  Notice his unaffected attitude and sturdy opinions.

Look at him running, running, running.  Look at him helping and sharing and playing.  Look at the way he looks at you.

See how curious, how eager, how vibrant he is!  See all of his hard work paid off in talents.  See how he drinks in more.

Feel the joy that trails after him.  Feel the contagious way that his happiness seeps into your skin when he comes close.  Feel afraid to speak for fear of interrupting his goodness.

Hope that he can endure you.  Hope beyond hope that he will allow you to come along and let you feel this way perpetually.  Hope that somehow he will enjoy your company for as long as you live!

Enjoy his humor and his confidence.  Enjoy being the one he chooses to be seen with.  Enjoy it!
